Connect Dropbox
Authorize read-only Dropbox access and index the folders holding documents worth searching.
The Dropbox connector reads supported document files from your Dropbox with scoped, read-only OAuth access. It never uploads, edits, moves, shares, or deletes Dropbox content.
You need the workspace admin role in Orcha and a Dropbox account.
Add the connector
- Open Connectors and choose Dropbox.
- Approve Dropbox's consent screen; the request covers account info and file reading only.
- Orcha catalogs your files and folders: names, paths, sizes, and revisions, without storing bodies.
Choose what gets indexed
Dropbox starts in Index names only mode. Set rules per folder to retain supported document content. Change notifications and cursor-based deltas keep the catalog current: files deleted in Dropbox leave the index, and deleting a folder removes its whole subtree.
Use it
Indexed documents come back from search cited to the exact file and revision, with a link into Dropbox, from the Orcha app, the REST API, and AI assistants connected over MCP.
Remove it
- Pause stops syncing while keeping indexed content searchable.
- Revoke invalidates Orcha's Dropbox credential and deactivates the source; indexed content is kept until you disconnect or reconnect.
- Disconnect purges indexed documents, search chunks, cached content, and sync state from your workspace.
- From Dropbox: remove Orcha under Connected apps. Then disconnect in Orcha to purge indexed content as well.
