Connect Microsoft 365

The Microsoft 365 connector reads Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files from the OneDrive of the user who gives authorization. It uses Microsoft Graph. It requests delegated, read-only access. It does not request access to SharePoint sites or tenant-wide permissions, and it does not write.

You must have the workspace admin role in Orcha and a Microsoft account with OneDrive.

Add the connector

1. Open Connectors and choose Microsoft 365.
2. Approve the Microsoft consent screen. The request gives read access to your files and profile only.
3. Orcha makes a catalog of your OneDrive. The catalog has the folder hierarchy, file names, sizes, and revisions. Orcha does not store file bodies.

Choose what gets indexed

OneDrive starts in Index names only mode. To keep document content, set rules for each folder. Orcha extracts the bodies of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files as text. Delta syncs follow the Graph change feed. Thus Orcha does not download unchanged files again. If you delete a file in OneDrive, Orcha removes it from the index on a later sync.

Use it

Search returns indexed documents with a citation to the exact file and revision. Each result has a link into OneDrive. You can search from the Orcha app, the REST API, and AI assistants that connect over MCP.

Remove it

• Pause stops the sync. Indexed content stays searchable.
• Revoke makes the Orcha Microsoft credential invalid and deactivates the source. Orcha keeps the indexed content until you disconnect or reconnect.
• Disconnect deletes indexed documents, search chunks, cached content, and sync state from your workspace.
• From Microsoft: remove Orcha under the app permissions of your account. For a work account, use My Apps. Then disconnect in Orcha to also delete the indexed content.
