Connect Google Drive

The Google Drive connector reads Drive files and the contents of Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets with read-only scopes. It never creates or changes anything in Drive, and it never requests access to Gmail. If you also want your mail indexed, connect Gmail separately.

You need the workspace admin role in Orcha and a Google account with access to the files you want indexed.

Add the connector

1. Open Connectors and choose Google Drive.
2. Approve Google's consent screen. The request covers Drive, Docs, Slides, and Sheets, all read-only.
3. Orcha catalogs My Drive and every shared drive you can reach: file names, folder structure, owners, and modification times, without retaining any file contents yet.

If Google shows a warning that the app is not verified, Orcha's verification review is still in progress. You can continue, or use the older Google Workspace connector with your own OAuth client instead.

Choose what gets indexed

Nothing is retained until you say so. Each drive starts at catalog, which means Orcha knows the file exists but has not stored its contents. Set a folder to full to index the documents inside it, and Orcha retains the text of Docs, Slides, and Sheets under that folder.

Sheets are read as ordered cell values, one section per sheet, up to 20 sheets and 5,000 rows per sheet. A spreadsheet larger than that says how many sheets were left out rather than truncating silently.

Other file types are cataloged and browsable but not retained; each says why in its listing.

Use it

Indexed documents come back from search cited to the exact file, with a link into Drive, from the Orcha app, the REST API, and MCP. After the first full walk, Orcha tracks Drive's change feed, so later syncs pick up additions, edits, and deletions without re-listing your whole corpus.

Remove it

Open Connectors, choose Google Drive, and disconnect. Orcha revokes the token with Google and deletes the indexed content. Removing the connector does not change anything in Drive.
